Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.0013168)

Christian Lee Vasquez, MC, LPC

Why am I a counselor? I wanted to go into banking when I first started college. I did not particularly like banking or finances, but I thought making money was the most important thing to focus on.  Luckily, I had a person intervene in my life and help me realize that true wealth in this life comes from doing what makes your heart happy. I realized that if I am able to help others in any small or big way, I will always feel fulfilled not only with my work, but as well as in my personal life.

I have provided therapy to adults, children, families, and groups over the nine seven years in Arizona and Colorado.  My clients have ranged from college educated individuals to children living group homes.  I have completed over 3200+ hours of supervised clinical work/training in Arizona that earned me the licenses to practice in Arizona and Colorado. I graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a (CACREP accredited) Master in Counseling, a Bachelor in Psychology, and a Bachelor in Sociology.  I have contribute to the Denver community by providing training and supervision for local Colorado student interns obtaining their master and doctoral degrees.

Over my time in practice I’ve found that being my authentic self in session allows my clinical skills to fully flourish and create a supportive therapeutic relationship. In addition to clinical expertise, I also bring my energetic and caring personality into session. If you're looking for a counselor who is extremely quiet and soft-spoken, we may not be the best match.

Having worked with therapists myself on my anxiety and coming-out, I strive to be my authentic self in every session. I enjoy working with folks who are anywhere on the gender spectrum (or off of it), and in the following relationship statuses or configurations: single, divorced, separated, monogamous, polyamorous, open, closed, kink, and/or BDSM. I self-identify as sex-positive and strive to continuously learn the evolving cultural attitudes and norms around sexuality.

I created CLV Counseling in attempts to provide support and respect for everyone by honoring sexual orientation, race, color, religion, spiritual practice, sex, age, socioeconomic status, gender identity or gender expression, relationship status or configuration, national origin or physical abilities. When I am not working in the office you can find me cuddling, walking, or spoiling my dog Rocky, virtually watching/supporting local drag shows/entertainers, practicing yoga (vinyasa, hatha, yin), babysitting my niblings*, or spending time with partner and family.

Pronouns: He, His, Him, Él, Gurl, She, Queen

* “Nibling” is a gender-neutral term used to refer to a child of one's sibling as a replacement for "niece" or "nephew".
